ABOUT US

Architecting Future...

Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School, Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi, is a Government-aided school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education.

In 1947, Pandit Girdhari Lal Salwan moved to Delhi and started the school in a tent at a refugee colony called Rajinder Nagar. Thus began the journey of our institution. The sprawling playfields were literally carved out of rocky ridges, with like-minded people joining him in this noble cause. The 18,776 sq. ft. building of Salwan Boys School was finally constructed in 1950–51.

Designing a sustainable school is a blend of ideas where architects and planners meet the challenges of creating better educational spaces for the future. The school originally created by Late Pandit Girdhari Lal Salwan—built with brick and mud—eventually began to deteriorate due to poor maintenance and had to be reconstructed to “sustain the vision” of the founder.

The building of our school is big, spacious and attractive. With more than 22 classrooms, laboratories, a well-equipped library and a computer lab, our campus is open, well-ventilated and well-resourced, allowing the campus itself to become a training ground for students.

Careful planning has been done to ensure smooth movement throughout the building, and its vertical design has allowed for ample open spaces. Students learn better, perform better and attend more regularly when they study in a sustainable, student-friendly environment.

We are a boys only school dedicated to inspiring excellence with a purpose.
