Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme
According to National Education Policy 2020, Teachers and Principals are expected to participate in at least 50 hours of CPD opportunities every year for their own professional development, driven by their own interests.
Training sessions are held around the year and multiple opportunities are provided to the faculty and the students to participate in conferences, summits, webinars, online workshops and exchange programmes.
The CPD process helps teachers to manage their own development on an ongoing basis. CPD helps teachers to –
- Ensures they keep pace with the current standards of others working in education.
- Keeps their knowledge and skills current so they can deliver high-quality teaching and impact positively on pupil outcomes.
- Makes sure that they become more effective in the workplace. This helps them to advance in their career and move into new positions where they can lead, manage, influence, coach and mentor others.
- Opens them up to new possibilities, new knowledge and new skills.
- Leads to increased confidence in themselves, others and the profession as a whole.

Training of School Health and Wellness Ambassadors
Two teachers Ashutosh Kumar Singh, TGT Social Science and Ravinderjeet Kaur, PGT Chemistry have attended the training of Health and Wellness Ambassadors under School Health and Wellness Programme (SHWP), organised from 07-01-2025 to 10-01-2025 by IDHS, Central District in collaboration with School Health Scheme, Central District.
The School Health and Wellness Programme, launched in February 2020, is a joint initiative of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Education, Government of India, to address the need for a comprehensive preventive and promotive health education programme in schools. The SHWP aims to Strengthen health promotion, improve emergency care skills, support holistic development and to reach 260 million schoolchildren by 2030.
The SHWP involves training two teachers in every school as “Health and Wellness
Ambassadors”. These teachers provide health promotion and disease prevention information to students through interactive activities

Educational Meet
‘Education from the person of a teacher to the person of a student’ – Prof RP Sharma
An Educational Meet in memory of Prof RP Sharma was organized by Salwan Public School on September 7, 2024. The event was attended by Mr. Naresh Kumar, Officiating Incharge, and Ms. Ravinderjeet Kaur, PGT Chemistry of Salwan Boys Sr Sec School. The theme of the meet was “Education: Challenges, Intent, and Practices.” The discussions focused on addressing critical issues related to the well-being of children through effective teaching strategies.
CPD by Salwan Education Trust
CPD was organised for PGTs and TGTs by Salwan Education Trust on 27-28 May 2024 at SPS, Mayur Vihar and SPS, Gurugram respectively.
The purpose of continuing professional development (CPD) for teachers was to help them in improving their teaching practices and meeting the needs of their students.
