Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School, Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi, celebrated Independence Day on 14 August 2026 with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and a deep sense of pride in the nation.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. The celebration also paid tribute to the vision and legacy of the school’s Founder Father, Pandit Girdhari Lal Salwan Ji, whose ideals of education, service and nation-building continue to inspire the Salwan fraternity. The school also acknowledged with gratitude the guidance and contribution of the Emeritus Chairman, Salwan Education Trust, whose leadership has strengthened the institution’s commitment to holistic education and character building.
The campus came alive with patriotic spirit as students presented a vibrant cultural programme comprising patriotic songs, dance performances, poems, speeches and an impactful nukkad natak. Through their performances, students highlighted the values of freedom, unity, courage, sacrifice and responsibility towards the nation.
The students’ presentations beautifully conveyed that the freedom enjoyed today is the result of the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and that the younger generation has the responsibility to build a strong, progressive and compassionate India.
Adding an academic and innovative dimension to the celebration, students also displayed science models and conducted engaging activities, reflecting their creativity, curiosity and scientific temperament.
A special highlight of the programme was the felicitation of the Class X and Class XII toppers of the session 2025–26. The meritorious students were honoured for their outstanding academic achievement, perseverance and dedication. Their success was celebrated as a source of pride and inspiration for the entire school community.
The Manager and Director of the School, Col. Sameer Salooja (Retd.), addressed the gathering and inspired the students to contribute meaningfully to nation-building. He particularly encouraged them to consider joining the Armed Forces and serving the country with courage, discipline, commitment and dedication. His inspiring words motivated the students to develop a spirit of service and responsibility towards the nation.
The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Officiating In-charge, Ms. Ravinderjeet Kaur, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, parents, staff members and students for their presence and contribution. She appreciated the dedicated efforts of the teachers and students in making the celebration meaningful and memorable.
