Empowering Future Innovators: Shell NXplorers Workshop at Salwan Boys

Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School, Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi successfully organized the Shell NXplorers Workshop for all sections of Classes 8 and 9. Conducted in partnership with the Learning Links Foundation, this multi-week STEM initiative empowered students with critical problem-solving frameworks to address challenges in the Food-Water-Energy nexus.

Workshop Highlights & Coverage

The interactive two-day sessions ran from July 28 to August 18, 2026, under the mentorship of facilitators Mr. Aman Gupta and Ms. Mohini Singh:

  • Class 8 (NXplorers Senior Intermediate Program): Led by Mr. Aman Gupta.
    • Class 8th B: July 28–29, 2026
    • Class 8th A: August 3–4, 2026
    • Class 8th C: August 5–6, 2026
  • Class 9 (NXplorers Senior Advanced Program):
    • Class 9th A (Ms. Mohini Singh) & Class 9th B (Mr. Aman Gupta): August 11–12, 2026
    • Class 9th C (Mr. Aman Gupta): August 17–18, 2026

Key Skills & Outcomes

Through hands-on group exercises, students gained essential 21st-century skills:

  • Systems Thinking: Learned tools like Connection Circles, Perspectives, and Scenario Planning to transition from linear thinking to interconnected, holistic approaches.
  • Structured Problem Solving: Unpacked root causes of complex environmental issues and designed practical solutions.
  • Critical Analysis: Challenged assumptions and evaluated the long-term impact of proposed ideas.
  • Collaboration & Pitching: Improved teamwork and confidence in presenting STEM projects, with students from Classes 8A and 9A delivering standout innovation pitches.

All participants received certificates of completion for successfully finishing the two-day training.

Looking Ahead

The NXplorers framework instills scientific inquiry, climate resilience, and analytical confidence. This training provides our students with a strong foundation to excel in future national STEM challenges, including the INSPIRE Awards – MANAK, Atal Innovation Mission (ATL) initiatives, and state science exhibitions.
