Educational Visit to Mother Dairy Plant

An educational visit to the Mother Dairy Plant, Patparganj, New Delhi, was organised on 29 August 2026 for the students of Classes XI and XII. A total of 115 students participated in the visit, comprising all three sections of Class XII and two sections of Class XI (Science and Commerce). The students were accompanied by Ms. Dipti Choudhary, Ms. Shashi Tanwar and Mr. Dharmendra Dhaka.
The visit provided students with first-hand knowledge of milk processing, quality control and the functioning of a large-scale dairy plant. On arrival, the students were welcomed with flavoured milk. The visit began with an informative video presentation explaining the various stages of milk production and processing.
The students were introduced to the processes of standardization, fortification, clarification, homogenization and pasteurization. The officials explained the quality standards followed at the plant and the methods used to ensure the quality and safety of milk. The students also learned about scientific methods for detecting milk adulteration through practical demonstrations and experiments.
An interactive session was conducted with the plant officials. The students learned about the origin and functioning of Mother Dairy, its contribution to the welfare of farmers, and the nutritional value of milk. They also learned about the organisation’s environmental initiatives, including rainwater harvesting and the use of solar energy.
The students were taken to the processing and logistics areas and were given information about the various operations involved in the dairy industry. They actively participated in the interaction and asked questions related to milk processing, quality control, adulteration and the functioning of the plant.
The visit concluded with ice cream being served to the students. The educational visit provided students with practical exposure to milk processing, food quality and safety, dairy technology, industrial operations and sustainability practices. It helped them connect their classroom learning with real-life industrial practices.
